Parish Profile

A Place for All People

St. Paul once said, “I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some (I Cor. 9:22).” At St. Paul’s in Conway, we echo the sentiments of our patron saint. When you visit St. Paul's you can expect to meet a variety of different people; black, white, rich, poor, young and old. Many are drawn to the Episcopal Church because of its rich history, which dates back almost to the time of Jesus. Others are drawn by our style of worship, which is as old as the second century AD and calls for active lay participation. Still others are drawn to St. Paul's parish because of the warm, interesting people you will meet when you visit us. For whatever reason you come, we pledge to you that the Good News of God in Christ will be our focus in preaching, teaching, and worship.

A Place for All Ages

No matter your age, St. Paul’s cares about you. It needs to be said, however, that we have a special passion for youth. We realize that the youth are the next generation of Christians. Because of this we have staff persons whose ministry it is to care for our children and our youth and to help them to grow up in the knowledge and love of Jesus. We also offer a Day School for young children where Christian values and education walk hand-in-hand. For our adults, we have a variety of programs and events, both fun and educational, throughout the year. To the elderly and infirm, we offer Lay Eucharistic ministry to bring Christ’s presence into the home, as well as clergy and lay visits to keep them connected to the Body of Christ.

A Place with Biblical Values

For we have..."decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified."
(1 Corinthians 2:2 RSV)

A Place of Worship

On Sunday, you will discover a variety of worship services, each following the early church’s pattern of Holy Communion as the principle act of worship. Depending on the service you choose, variety will be evident: from a 7:45 AM service which is small and quiet, to a “newcomer friendly” 9:00 AM service called “SYNERGY” that features some of the best in modern worship music, to an 11:00 AM Traditional service with hymns
played in all their majesty on a Casavant Frères pipe organ featuring over 2600 pipes. Each service is unique in its style, consistent in its message. Please take note while you are here that you cannot “mess up” during worship. You will see people honoring God in a variety of fashions. Please do not feel as though you have to follow.

A Place for Ministry

St. Paul’s is a church with a big heart. Each year we extend our hands to people in need through a variety of ministries. Our outreach ministry raises money for the less fortunate through a ministry called Matthew 25. In addition, we support Churches Assisting People, serve monthly at Street Reach (soup kitchen), developed a Conway soup kitchen called the Shepherd’s Table and we continue to nurture our ministry partnership with our friends in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

A Place Where Everyone Knows Your Name

St. Paul’s is a church of small groups. From our START small groups to our Disciple Bible Groups, we have a place for you. Each group is designed to bless the participants by helping them to grow in their knowledge of God, to find inspiration to meet each new day, and to connect everyone with a few Christian friends who pledge to be there with you through life’s ups and downs.

A Place with Family Values

At St. Paul’s you will find that the Christian faith doesn’t have to be boring, legalistic or irrelevant. Instead, you will find a church family that cares about you and your faith journey. We are active in ministry, excited about life, and growing. So why not join our growing family? There is always room for one more.
